VISION / SKILLS TAUGHT
VISION
To empower the Youth, Unemployed Adults and Homeless individuals through entrepreneurial training. “I am My Brother's Keeper” is a fundraising campaign created to financially support the training. Through entrepreneurship we can transform these individuals into a network of black businessmen and women. As they grow their business they can in turn invest back into the community / pool capital amongst their network to invest in bigger businesses / commit to making ongoing contributions to build funds for small business loans. I strongly feel that this is a powerful step in the right direction. This initial phase will target five strategic cities such as: LA, Baltimore, Oakland, Philly & Chicago. Once the training base is in place and self-sufficient we can expand to even more cities.
TRAINING
Individuals will be taught - SILK SCREENING / SEWING and MARKETING STRATEGIES.
● SILK-SCREENING - is a multi-billion dollar industry. The process is used to print images on t-shirts and apparel / posters / glasswork and many other products. Participants will be taught to create their own t-shirt line or take orders from customers. They'll always be a need for shirts: churches, family reunions, sport teams, businesses, day-care centers, etc.
● SEWING ( accessories ) - handbags / vest / hats / belts / pillows and aprons. Although accessories are small items in size they pull in millions of dollars in retail sales each year.
● MARKETING - without effective marketing strategies a business will most likely fail. Especially if they have a lot of competition with their target market. We'll teach individuals how to create a niche and a demand for their product line.
